Searching for a term in the Google search engine can result in different search results depending on the country in which the wanted term is searched for. As already known, mostly every country has its personalized Google search engine which is as well adjusted to its language and so there is: Google.hr in Croatia, Google.rs in Serbia, Google.ba in Bosnia, Google.mk in Macedonia, Google.de in Germany, Google.dk in Denmark etc.

Why is this important to know? If we have a product or a service which we want to place in a particular country, in a particular speaking area, the results of the research should be analyzed from Google search engine of that particular country, that is, of that particular speaking area in order to make sure that we are getting the right results depending on the targeted market. For example, let’s take the term “seo hrvatska” analyzing it through different Google search engines in order to see which position the page Internet Svijet will take according to the mentioned term.

1. Google.hr – Internetsvijet for the key term “seo hrvatska” is in position 7
2. Google.rs – Internetsvijet for the key term “seo hrvatska” is in position 9
3. Google.ba – Internetsvijet for the key term “seo hrvatska” is in position 9
4. Google.mk – Internetsvijet for the key term “seo hrvatska” is in position 6

Since this term is written in the same way in all of the four languages we decided to search for it in these four Google search engines just to give you a rough idea on the difference in results for the key term written in the same language but shown in different geographic areas.

As for the results of multilingual pages, that is the results for the same key terms written in different languages, the situation with the search is the same. So, if somebody tells you that they have a great number of visitors on their page for the key term “apartmani hrvatska” and the goal is a multilingual place of the same term, here is how you will check the position of that page depending on the language in which we search for the key term in Google search engine of the country for which the term will be searched – you enter a targeted term in Google search engine of a targeted country and in a targeted language:

Google Croatia – search in Croatian language for the key term “apartmani hrvatska”
Google Germany – search in German language for the key term “ferienwohnung kroatien”
Google Denmark – search in Danish language for the key term “feriebolig kroatien”
Google Italy – search in Italian language for the key term “appartamenti croazia”
Google England – search in English language for the key term “apartments croatia”
Google Sweden – search in Swedish language for the key term “lägenheter kroatien”
Google Poland – search in Polish language for the key term “apartamenty chorwacja”
Google Czech – search in Czech language for the key term “apartmány chorvatsko”
Google Netherlands – search in Dutch language for the key term “appartementen Kroatië”
Google Austria – search in German language for the key term “ferienwohnung kroatien”
Google Australia – search in English language for the key term “apartments croatia”
Google Spain – search in Spanish language for the key term “apartamentos croacia
